Baldoyle Ladies 7 First Cup Match

Score: 4-0 Baldoyle Ladies 7 (Gillian, Marie, Lisa, Cathy)

After making the arduous trek from Baldoyle to Swords, we found the Liam Rogers Centre in Swords Enterprise Park (opposite the old Kinsealy Inn), which would be the location for our first Cup match (against Holywell L4).

We got off to a bad start losing the first game of the match, but after a bit of off-court advice from Lisa and Georgina, we pulled it together and went on to win our next 2 games!

We won the next 3 matches in straight sets.

The first 2 were played consecutively and then a court freed up and we played the final 2 matches in tandem. We only needed 1 win from those last 2 matches but were delighted to claim another 2 wins given the tough games we had. Many of the results very close.

Holywell L4 were ever gracious hosts and with the matches over we were able to relax and enjoy the unexpected banquet and company provided by the opposition.

We spotted Holywell L3 observing the games - they are to be our first fixture in the League.
