BALDOYLE MENS 2 TO GET THINGS UNDERWAY!

And so it begins...
With 90% of the (at least) 158 fixtures for Baldoyle this season confirmed, the question remains as to who are the first team to don the jersey and represent the club. That honour falls to our Mens 2 team of Michael Lindstrom, John Bruun, Michael Smith and Tommy Justin, as they travel to Ashbourne to take on their Mens 2 team in a Division 8 Cup Match.
While it involves travelling across county lines for the majority of the team, it’s a local match for team captain John Bruun who sensationally turned down a mega-money deal to join the mighty Baldoyle 3 years ago. Rumour has it the lure of the cheesecake was too much for JB to turn down; with others commentating that perhaps he should have accepted the Ashbourne offer, for health reasons.
That rejection hasn’t been forgotten about out in Meath and a hostile reception is expected next week. Commenting on this match John Bruun had this to say...
“While a home draw is preferred, we’ll travel to Ashbourne next week full of confidence. We have half of the 2017 Division 9 Cup Winning team in this squad, and in my opinion the better half, and we’ve added the experience of Tommy and the never-say-die attitude of Michael.
"It will take some team to stop us and we are already looking forward to the next round and a potential home clash with Clontarf, who ended our league exploits last year, when the aforementioned ‘weaker half’ let us down badly.”
It should be a cracker and all of us at the club wish them, and all our teams, the very best for the season ahead.
